Discover What Will Keep You On Track In The New Year

If you’re tired of New Year’s resolutions (and blogs telling you how to dominate them), then this post may be refreshing.

Finding Your Purpose

The Best Advice You Can Get

Recently, I was inspired by an episode of How I Met Your Mother while binge watching on Netflix. Whether or not you watch the show, you can appreciate the irony of the scene: a man strips down to nothing in a girl’s apartment, hoping that would get her to sleep with him. She’s rightfully disgusted, and wonders aloud if this is what life will be like from now on. During an obviously awkward conversation, he drops a revelation bomb that changes the course of her life.

What was his incredible advice, you ask? To find out what she wants to do with her life, and make every decision in service of that thing.

Simple enough, right?

Find your passion.
Make decisions based on it.

Thank you, Naked Man!

We often view the world and make decisions through our hurts, our past, our fears, our failures… what if you viewed the world, your to-do list, and your choices through your life’s purpose?

Write The Vision On The Walls

I was so inspired that I wrote down my passions, my purpose, and what I want to bring to this world. Now I read it before I start my work day. It helps me stay focused and weed out things that might be good, but aren’t in line with my vision. Write the vision on the wall, friends, so it’s always at the forefront of your mind.

Don’t feel stressed if you don’t know your entire life’s purpose. Instead, look for this year’s purpose, or this season’s purpose, or what you can do to make a positive impact now. A few years ago there would be no way I could answer that question- but I could spread encouragement and happiness everywhere I went. Don’t overcomplicate things. Take a deep breath and smile.

This year, my life will become more focused on growing The Fit Tutor and improving it so more women can be empowered, encouraged, healthier, and confident. That, my friends, is my dream, my purpose. And I. Can’t. Wait!

What’s your vision, your passion, your purpose? And what can you do NOW to work towards it? Tell us in the comments!
