This is my favorite brand because it’s a plant-based, organic protein powder that still has 20g of protein per serving and several grams of fiber. I think it’s yummy, but some people prefer the vanilla to the chocolate. I always have both flavors in my pantry! A good protein powder is one of many essential healthy living products to keep in your cabinets!

This is my favorite brand because it’s a plant-based, organic protein powder that still has 21g of protein per serving, and it has several grams of fiber. This is a great protein for the price! Try it in a lemon raspberry smoothie.

Grass fed whey is a great option to help build lean muscle and lose fat! Orgain has 21g of protein and no added sugars! This link takes you to choose between both chocolate and vanilla. They contain organic erythritol which can bother some people’s stomachs but I’ve never noticed that.

This is a highly rated but affordable prenatal vitamin. Any woman sexually active of child-bearing age should take a prenatal vitamin to be safe. I like this brand because you can take one with each meal (since several make up one serving) to help ensure you absorb all the nutrients without a stomach ache common in prenatal vitamins.

This is a highly rated brand that’s very affordable. I recommend taking a multivitamin on those days you don’t get a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to supplement your diet.

Might as well get something for the man in your life while you’re here! This is what I give to my husband. It’s an organic, food-based multivitamin that also has antioxidants and digestive support.

I recommend everyone take probiotics, and this brand is quality and a great price. Getting the proper balance of good to bad bacteria in your gut is linked with numerous health benefits and reduction/improvement of diseases, as well as improved digestion and weight loss.

This is what I take. NSF certified brand with 15 billion CFU’s (which is a good thing!). Getting the proper balance of good to bad bacteria in your gut is linked with numerous health benefits and reduction/improvement of diseases, as well as improved digestion and weight loss.

I recommend Ultima as a natural electrolyte drink instead of gatorade or powerade. A yummy, natural alternative to other electrolyte drinks filled with chemicals and colors. This link takes you to a pink lemonade canister but there are also packets and other flavors.

If you feel like you’re lacking energy for your workouts or having trouble recovering, you might want to consider BCAAs before and/or during! Most on the market are filled with questionable chemicals. This is one is clean, comes in yummy flavors, and can help you build muscle while cutting calories.

This fish oil is provides 1290mg of EPA / DHA in the proper ratio to help support joints, immunity, skin & hair, cardiovascular health, and clear thinking. It’s also MSC certified so it’s good for our oceans! I keep mine in my freezer and experience no aftertaste! Consult your doctor first – especially if you’re on BP meds.

Vegetarians need their Omega’s, too! A sustainable, fish-less option that uses algae and still boasts 500mg of DHA. Free from ocean-born pollutants and toxins. I take fish oil so I haven’t tried this, but it’s third party certified and has 4.7 stars!

Two scoops has 18 g of protein, so it’s great for workouts, weight loss, and is a go-to skin, hair, and joint supplement. This is a top-rated brand that uses grass-fed collagen, is gluten and dairy free, and Whole30 certified. The verdict is still out on whether it’s worth it to take collagen, but most women I train do not get enough protein, so I’d say it’s good for that reason alone.

If you don’t get your 8 servings of veggies or if you lack energy, I recommend a Greens supplement. This brand is top notch, and I prefer the berry over the chocolate. Greens supplements increase alkalinity, boost immunity, contain probiotics and enzymes to support digestion, and promotes detoxification. I have yet to come across a truly tasty one, so I use 1/2 scoop when I make a smoothie and love it!

This is the perfect immune-boosting digestive and weight loss support to add to your diet – especially in any chocolate super shake you make! Just like its berry counterpart, it contains probiotics, enzymes, and promotes detoxification. In a perfect world I’d consume enough veggies, but I need this support a few days a week!

Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory and painkiller. A good supplement has BioPerine to help you absorb it, and this particular one has 750mg per pill, which is great. It helps prevent cancer, heart disease, Alzheimers, depression, fights free radicals, and more. 1200-1800 mg recommended per day.

These dumbbells are softer for your floors and quieter when you set them down- not to mention a little easier on you if you happen to hit yourself! The hex shape keeps them from rolling away and the rubber coating protects them from chipping so they are long-lasting! These keep going in and out of stock, like most workout equipment these days. Sold individually, not in pairs.

Adjustable dumbbells are great to save space and help you gain strength without owning several pairs of dumbbells. These are so easy to use- you just turn the dial to the weight that you want! They are sold *separately* and these range from 5-25 pounds on each dumbbell. These are a must-have for any home gym! One of the many healthy living products I just can’t live without.

Y’all know I’m so loyal to my PowerBlocks, but they are just not in stock these days. These have amazing reviews and are even easier to use! Adding heavier weights to your home gym will greatly improve your results, especially for leg workouts! Note: this is per dumbbell, not a pair.

I would recommend dumbbells over resistance bands for weight loss and strength, however bands are great for travel workouts and for isolating a muscle. I use them for rehab, posture correction exercises, and warm ups, and they are a staple for regaining strength for postpartum women. I’d opt for the door attachment!

We don’t include bosu instructional videos on The Fit Tutor yet, but it’s such a great addition to your home gym! It makes exercises harder, and you can really work your core and balance with a BOSU (both sides up!). Comes with instructions to help you get started!

If you need a workout mat or place to sweat this is a perfect mat for at home workouts! You can wear your shoes on it and not tear it up, and I love that I can adjust the size depending on my need, or split it up. It’s bigger than the average yoga mat, too, which is perfect for HIIT and strength workouts!
~$50 Buy it here
I know the temptation to grab the cheapest yoga mat at TJ Maxx or Wal-mart, but many of those are made with endocrine disrupting chemicals and cannot be recycled. Be better to yourself and our planet with this affordable yoga mat! It’s not the most non-toxic one you can get, but it is for this price. Bonus points for cool colors. :)

Loop resistance bands are an awesome way to build strength and work on imbalances. In fact, they are a must if your knees cave in when you squat or lunge! They’re great for building a rockin’ caboose, for physical therapy and postural correction, and for adding a new kind of resistance to your workouts. The fabric bands are higher quality and won’t snap like the cheaper ones.

This step is small, compact, and can be adjustable up to a foot! This step is perfect for at-home strength, like step ups, toe taps, split squats, etc, and it’s easy to store. I love a good cardio step workout while watching Schitt’s Creek, too. It’s versatile, sturdy, and high quality. I’ve had mine for 5 years and still use it regularly.

This is straight from heaven! I use this weekly on sore muscles, tight spots, or trigger points. It has helped with soreness, mobility, and shoot, it just feels amazing. This is an excellent brand that’s easier on the wallet than the TheraGun, and it comes with several attachments and holds a long charge.

This has been a godsend for my tight neck and back muscles! You can control how much pressure you use, so it’s been a great alternative to lacrosse balls. It helps with knots, tightness, sore muscles, and warm ups and recovery for workouts! Plus everyone who comes over wants to try it.

I recommend the larger 36 in foam roller. It’s great for rolling out tight muscles and knots, as well as lying on for posture stretches! The smaller ones are cheaper and also good, but lying on it to stretch out your chest is absolutely amazing.

My husband gave me his hand-me-down airpods and I had no idea how much I’d love them for workouts! They stay in no matter what workout I’m doing, and these are a safer alternative than noise canceling ones, which can put us in dangerous situations when outside or in a gym. I love mine and am so thankful to no longer have a cord! This link will also help you find a slightly cheaper version that charges with a cord.

Since we’re focused on real, healthy food, it means we opt for an olive oil sprayer instead of cooking spray. Even “healthy” cooking sprays tend to have added ingredients. The Misto is great for spraying pans and dishes before cooking and baking, great for spraying vegetables before cooking, and great for portion control in adding olive oil to salads!

Vegetable noodles are a great way to get your pasta fix without gaining four pounds immediately. This spiralizer helps ensure you can have your zoodles without stress. It comes with 5 different blades for different cuts, sizes, and shapes! I don’t use mine as much as I used to, but it was worth it alone for sweet potato noodles.

I got these about 5 years ago and have seriously regretted not getting them earlier! I use mine every time I cook! This is a set.

I researched Air Fryers and most places say that they aren’t worth the counter space unless it’s multifunctioning. This one has 4.8 stars on Amazon and is also a slow cooker, pressure cooker, steamer, saute and sear, and more! I can’t attest to it’s faithfulness yet, but after a lot of research I settled on this one. It’s one of the few with a CERAMIC coating that won’t chip off into your food. I’ve seen these on sale at Target, too!

We recently switched to ceramic nonstick cookware and regret not doing it earlier. No PFOAs, PFAs, cadmium, or lead, and you can put these in the dishwasher and oven. Easy to clean and easy to cook on makes such a difference! GreenPan is a great brand, and if you take good care of these they should last. This link will take you to other GreenPan sets, too. I like the Rio if it matches your kitchen!

This Ninja blender is effective and affordable and will help you make the perfect greens-protein smoothie, as well as help you liquify soups! It comes with two to-go shake cups which make it a great buy! I love mine and have been using it weekly for over 4 years now!

The perfect blender option for those will little space, a smaller budget, or only needing a blender for protein shakes and smoothies! I’ve tried cheaper single serve blenders- and they don’t work. This is my recommendation for a well-blended greens smoothie- and the to-go cups are really helpful!

I’ve been using this body lotion for about a decade. I LOVE it and have recruited a following for it ;) Coconut Lemon scent is delicious, although they also offer unscented and other flavors, as I like to call them. It’s moisturizing without leaving you too dry in the winter or too greasy in the summer. And this 2 pack is an excellent deal!

Thrive’s Liquid Lash Extension mascara gets me compliments all the time, and it stays on through cries, sweat sessions, and the humidity mask-wearing brings! My only heads up is that it comes off a bit chunky, which is normal but freaky at first! It’s gentle for sensitive eyes, and is a great option with better ingredients that works and looks great. This link takes you to Thrive’s site and gives you $10 OFF! Or use the code REFERL8J1JPPL

This was my go-to for years, and I’ve helped create a cult following for fellow criers! It stays on and looks natural. The ONYX is a dreamy black, and this holds a better price tag than the Thrive if you’re interested! Zuzu is paraben and coal tar free, and lasts all day. It’s another one of my recommended healthy living products that’s a “better” option with a decent price tag.

To only choose one sunscreen for the store was hard- but I went with something both the hubby and I will both wear and is a decent price. He won’t wear mineral sunscreens and I want something with a good EWG rating – enter Alba sensitive spf 30. It goes on like regular sunscreen and has an EWG rating of 2 (1 is best). This link will take you to a few other options as well!

I’ve been using Native for about 4 years now. I know deodorant is so person-specific, but this seems to work in all scenarios and sweats. The ingredients are amazing, and it’s aluminum and paraben free and cruelty free. Totally worth a try if you’re looking for a better deodorant! On Native’s website, they also have a plastic free option that I just switched to! SO exciting!

After my favorite C serum was discontinued I tried around and hated them all. I finally tried Beautycounter and OH MY WORD. I am so hooked. It smells delightful and my skin has never looked healthier. This vitamin c serum is a must-have for bright and healthy skin! I don’t sell Beautycounter but my friend Kelly does and she is always giving back to foster families in our community. She’s a fantastic consultant, and will help if you have any questions.

After discovering that I had been green-washed by another company, I gave in and bought this anti-aging regimen because I trusted their ingredients. It’s long-lasting, EWG Verified clean beauty, and my skin has never looked this good! My redness has died down and my skin looks hydrated, fresh, and younger. It will not reverse my years in the tanning bed, but I’m so happy with these results. I’ve tried just about every regimen out there and this one has me telling the world. You can also buy each individually if you don’t want to commit to the whole bundle ;)

I started using this in December and immediately noticed my redness wasn’t as pronounced (my derm says lasers will be my only hope!) and my skin looked smoother! After a few months I’m hooked. This was my gateway into beauty counter. Did you know you can return products within 60 days if you don’t like them? This is totally worth a shot.

I switched to a cup after thinking of what I was adding to our landfills. It has a learning curve for sure, but I’m going on my 5th year of using one. It saves money, holds more than your average product, and is one of many healthy living products that are also eco friendly. If you can get through the awkward learning curve, I think you’ll be a fan, too!

When we moved into our house we added white tile floors with white grout- with dods, in the pacific northwest. Cleaning has been challenging and I’ve bought and returned about 5 mops. This one, my friends, is incredible. It is heavy duty, and it actually WORKS. The handle detaches with a grout cleaning attachment as well as about 10 others! Steam mops are a great way to clean your floors and kill germs. You will not regret buying this one!

Dryer sheets are a nightmare for the environment and completely unnecessary. If you haven’t made the switch over to wool dryer balls yet, give these a try! They are long lasting, chemical free, and save our environment from unnecessary chemicals and sheets that cannot be recycled. They also work! I was skeptical but was so glad I finally gave them a try!

Almond flour is essential for low carb or paleo cooking and baking. You can sub it 1:1 for white flour to make desserts, breads, and casseroles healthier. It’s also a good source of vitamin E, protein, and magnesium compared to regular flours. I always have both almond and coconut flour on hand!

Every home needs coconut oil. This steam-pressed oil has a higher smoke point that virgin, and is great for face and skin care, cooking, baking, coffee, deodorant, etc. I cook with refined when I don’t want the coconut flavor- this has a very neutral flavor.
